Manish Pandey declines RCB's offer!!!
Manish Pandey despite his heroics in the domestic cricket couldn’t find a place in the Indian team, a good show in the third season of the IPL gave Tiwary a ticket to India team. And guess what, while Pandey finds himself in middle of a bitter battle between franchises to get him on board as an uncapped player, Tiwary, who played three ODIs for India last year, has pocketed $1.6 million from RCB.
On October 20 last year, Delhi left-arm opener Shikhar Dhawan made his one-day international debut. India were playing against Australia and their regular openers Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag and Gautam Gambhir were nursing injuries.
He lasted just two balls before being bowled by Clint McKay; two balls that in the past few words have earned enormous significance.
The stint at the wicket lasted just a few minutes but ended up fetching him $300,000 when Deccan Chargers picked him at the Indian Premier League’s auction held at Bangalore on January 8-9. If he had not played those two balls, the maximum he would have got was $67,000 (Rs 30 lakhs) approximately.
Same is the case with Ojha and Pankaj Singh. Both were part of the India team that toured Zimbabwe for a tri-series in June last year. Ojha played just one ODI and two T20 games. He has since been forgotten by the selectors. But does he really mind? Ojha’s ‘cap’ got him $270,000 from Delhi Daredevils.
POOR Manish!!!
